Ouattara: Morocco’s place is within the African Union
PERSISMA, Kigali – Morocco’s place is within the African Union, said Monday from Kigali (Rwanda), the Ivorian president, Alassane Ouattara, advising that the Kingdom brings a lot to ‘security and prosperity’ on the Continent.
“I am very pleased the message of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, for having taken this decision to return within the African Union,” said the head of the Ivorian state Ouattara whose remarks were relayed by African Press Agency (APA-news).
“We believe that for decades we will be together. So the fact that HM King Mohammed VI has now formalized this decision at its level for the Moroccan people is a great thing for the African Union,” he said, recalling the excellent relations between Cote d’Ivoire and Morocco.
For Mr. Ouattara, Morocco remains “a large African country” that provides “a lot to continental security, its prosperity, but also to diplomatic relations and cooperation”.
“Within our set, this will only strengthen its role, its place and its leadership. We therefore welcome the return of Morocco with great satisfaction,” concluded the Ivorian Head of State.
