Tunisian Foreign Minister commends Morocco’s deep democratic reforms
Speaking at a meeting with Morocco’s Secretary of State to the Foreign Minister, Latifa Akharbach, the Tunisian official highlighted Morocco’s leading experience in the multiparty system and the freedom of the press.
Mouldi Kéfi added that strengthening cooperation between Morocco and Tunisia will have a positive impact on the two countries relations with the European Union, a statement of Morocco’s Embassy quoted him as saying.
During her two-day visit to Tunisia, Akharbach held talks with other senior officials including Tunisian counterpart Radouane Nouicer on the means to further boost bilateral relations.
The two parties reiterated positions in favour of building the Maghreban union as a strategic choice for the countries of the region.
The talks were also an opportunity to discuss the latest developments in Tunisia following the revolution. In this respect, Akharbach welcomed “the deep democratic change witnessed in Tunisia,” stressing the need for comprehensive development, good governance and ensuring equilibrium between the regions.
During the talks light was also shed on the momentum launched in Morocco following the announcement by HM King Mohammed VI of the constitutional revision.
