HM King Mohammed VI Congratulates Michel Kafando On His Appointment As Interim President Of Burkina Faso
PERSISMA, Rabat, Nov. 20, 2014 – HM King Mohammed VI has sent a congratulatory message to Michel Kafando, who was sworn in as Burkina Faso’s transitional president on Tuesday.
“Your appointment by the nation’s forces to conduct this delicate transitional period reflects their confidence in your rich experience, wisdom and moral integrity. It also reflects the will of the people of Burkina Faso to move forward on towards the consolidation of democracy to achieve their aspirations for further development and well-being”, the Sovereign said in this message.
HM the King seized this opportunity to express Morocco’s constant support to Burkina Faso and reaffirm His firm determination to work in concert with Mr. Kafando, to give new impetus to fruitful cooperation relations and active solidarity between the two countries for the benefit of the two brotherly nations and for the progress, prosperity and stability in the continent.
After weeks of anxiety over the future of Burkina Faso’s leadership, Former Foreign Minister Michel Kafando was sworn in as Burkina Faso’s transitional president on Tuesday.
