HM the King Hands Donation of 14 Tons of Medicines to Health Authorities in Gabon

PERSISMA, Libreville, June 12, 2015 – HM King Mohammed VI handed, on Friday in the Application School of Military Health Services, a donation of two tons of medicines to treat opportunistic infections associated with HIV / AIDS and and twelve tons of medicines and medical-technical equipment for the Gabonese health authorities.

The initiative, part of the dense and advanced multifaceted cooperation between Morocco and Gabon, reflects the firm determination of the sovereign to confer a humanistic dimension to Morocco’s solidarity with African countries and South-South cooperation.

It also highlights the will of HM the King to contribute to the progress and prosperity of the brotherly people of Gabon, the improvement of health and living conditions of vulnerable populations and the creation of conditions for the achievement of sustainable human development.

The royal donation of two tons of medicines to treat opportunistic diseases and infections associated with AIDS / HIV, offered by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development for Gabonese institutions that take care of HIV patients, include antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal drugs.

As for the twelve tons of medicines and medical-technical equipment, it includes a Moroccan aid to health care facilities in Gabon. This assistance is made up of notably conventional drugs in psychiatry, neurology, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, cardiology, anesthesia, intensive care, pulmonology, otorhinolaryngology, Dermatology and allergology.

There are also medical devices, including table-top autoclaves (sterilizers), electronic blood pressure monitors, infrared thermometers, electrocardiographs, and medical fungibles (consumables and surgical products).
