King’s Visit to Antananarivo, ‘Source of Pride for Malagasy People’: Foreign Minister
PERSISMA, Antananarivo – Madagascar’s Foreign minister, Attalah Beatrice, said that King Mohammed VI’s visit to Antananarivo is “a source of pride for the Malagasy people.”
“All Malagasy people are proud of this visit, so long awaited in our country,” she told the press.
The Malagasy minister highlighted the historic links between Morocco and Madagascar, noting that the Malagasy people had welcomed late King Mohammed V with great hospitality during his forced exile by the French colonizer in 1954.
King Mohammed VI arrived Saturday evening in Antananarivo for an official visit to Madagascar, second stage of a tour that led the Sovereign to Ethiopia and which will also lead him to other African brotherly countries.
