PERSISMA, Rabat – Amid the unprecedented tension between Morocco and the United Nations following Ban Ki-moon statements against Rabat, Cote D’Ivoire has reiterated its support to Morocco’s territorial integrity and expressed its astonishment at the UN chief’s statements.

Minister of African Integration and Ivorians abroad Ally Coulibaly reaffirmed Tuesday in Rabat his country’s support to Morocco’s territorial integrity.

During talks with the Secretary General of the Council of Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) Abdellah Boussouf, Coulibaly expressed the astonishment of Cote d’Ivoire concerning the statements made by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the Moroccan Sahara, stressing that these remarks “are disconnected from reality.”

The Ivorian Minister highlighted Morocco’s role in maintaining world peace in many regions, recalling the contribution of the Kingdom since 2002 to resolve the political crisis in Cote d’Ivoire.
