EESC President to Visit Morocco on Monday
PERSISMA, Rabat – President of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), Georges Dassis, will visit Morocco on Monday, the EESC said.
During this visit, Dassis will hold talks with President of Morocco’s Economic and Social Council, Nizar Baraka, and members of the Council.
He will also meet with representatives of the Moroccan civil society.
Talks will focus on the role of the civil society in political dialogue, relations between the European Union and Morocco and the fight against climate change.
The EESC aims at strengthening the democratic legitimacy and effectiveness of the European Union by enabling civil society organisations from the Member States to express their views at European level.
The EESC has 350 Members. All Members (also called Councillors) are drawn from economic and social interest groups in Europe.
