HM the King Congratulates WTO Chief on Reappointment

PERSISMA, Rabat – HM King Mohammed VI sent a congratulatory message to director-general of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Roberto Azevedo, who was appointed to a second four-year term.

In this message, HM the King expresses to Azevedo His heartfelt congratulations and sincere wishes of full success in the fulfillment of his mission.

The Sovereign added that this appointment for a second term at the head of this important international body reflects the trust placed in Azevedo by the member countries of the Organization, thanks to his professional competence and broad expertise, as well as his know-how and efficiency in managing the affairs of this body over the past four years.

On this occasion, HM the King reaffirms Morocco’s continuous support and permanent readiness to contribute to the Organization’s action, for the efficient implementation of its plans and programs in order to contribute to the reduction of economic and social disparities between advanced and developing countries and to create new and promising job opportunities in the countries of the South, particularly in the African continent.
