HRH Princess Lalla Malika chairs ceremony of celebrating World Red Crescent and Red Cross Day
PERSISMA, Rabat – HRH Princess Lalla Malika, chairwoman of the Moroccan Red Crescent (CRM), chaired, on Monday at the Rabat royal hosts villa, the ceremony of celebrating the World Red Crescent and Red Cross day and the launch of the Moroccan Red Crescent National Week.
HRH Princess Lalla Malika chaired a reception offered by HM King Mohammed VI on this occasion, which was attended by several Moroccan and foreign figures.
Held on May 8-15 under the theme “Voluntary-based and Humanitarian Action for the Underprivileged”, the Moroccan Red Crescent National Week is marked by the launch of a medical-social campaign for residents of the Ahmed Bin Zayed Al Nahyane Establishment in Ain Ariq, and the organization of medical check-ups notably in ophthalmology, gynecology, cardiology, pediatrics, endocrinology and pulmonology.
Over 4,000 patients will benefit, under this campaign, of surgeries, medical consultations and screening for some diseases. A 150-strong technical, medical and administrative staff will be mobilized to this end.
Social actions are also scheduled as part of the event in collaboration with the Health Ministry.
The celebration of the World Red Crescent and Red Cross day and the Moroccan Red Crescent National Week will be also marked by several medical and social activities across the Kingdom.
