King Mohammed VI Arrives in Accra for Official Visit to Republic of Ghana

PERSISMA, Accra – King Mohammed VI arrived in Accra on Thursday for an official visit to the Republic of Ghana, as part of a tour that will take the sovereign to several African countries.

Upon his arrival at the Kotoka airport in Accra, the King, who was accompanied by Prince Moulay Ismail, was greeted by vice-president of the Republic of Ghana Mahamudu Bawumia.

Afterwards, the King was greeted by several top Ghanaian officials.

The King was also welcomed by Hamid Chabar, Morocco’s ambassador to Ghana, and members of the Moroccan diplomatic representation in Accra.

The vice-president of the Republic of Ghana was then greeted by members of the official delegation accompanying the King, in particular the King’s advisor Fouad Ali El Himma.

The delegation also includes foreign minister Salaheddine Mezouar, economic minister Mohamed Boussaid, housing minister Nabil Benabdellah, agriculture minister Aziz Akhannouch, interim tourism minister, minister of industry Moulay Hafid Alami, interim energy minister, health minister Lhossine El Ouardi, minister delegate for foreign affairs Nasser Bourita, as well as several civil and military figures.

After a short break at the airport’s VIP lounge, the official procession made its way to the sovereign’s residence.
