King Mohammed VI Arrives in Conakry for Working, Friendship Visit to Guinea

PERSISMA – King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Prince Moulay Ismail, arrived on Thursday in Conakry for a working and friendship visit to the Republic of Guinea, the third stage of the African tour that led the Sovereign to Ghana and Zambia.

Upon His arrival at the Conakry International Airport, the King was welcomed by President of the Republic of Guinea, Alpha Condé.

The Sovereign was then greeted by the Prime Minister, Head of the Guinean Government and the Governor of the city of Conakry.

 

After saluting the Moroccan and Ghanaian flags while the anthems of the two countries were playing, the two Heads of State reviewed a detachment of the Armed Forces who made honors.

King Mohammed VI was subsequently greeted by senior officers of the Guinean Armed Forces, the Presidents of the institutions of the Republic of Guinea, the High Representative of the Head of State, members of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, government members, ministers-advisers, the diplomatic corps and representatives of international organizations accredited in Conakry.

The Sovereign was also greeted by Morocco’s Ambassador to Guinea, Driss Sbaine and the embassy staff.

Subsequently, the President of the Republic of Guinea was greeted by the members of the official delegation accompanying the Sovereign, notably the King’s Adviser, Fouad Ali Al Himma.

The official Moroccan delegation also includes Foreign Minister, Salaheddine Mezouar, Minister of Economy and Finance, Mohamed Boussaid, Minister of Housing and Urban Policy, Nabil Benabdellah, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Aziz Akhannouch, Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Minister of Health, El Houcine Louardi, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Nasser Bourita, as well as several civilian and military figures.

A warm welcome was reserved to the King at the airport by several Moroccans and Guineans, who came to express their great joy of this visit.

After a short break at the airport’s VIP lounge, the procession of the two Heads of State headed to the Mohammed V presidential palace, residence of the Sovereign in Conakry.
