PERSISMA, Dakar, May 21, 2015 – HM King Mohammed VI held, on Thursday at the presidential palace in Dakar, private talks with Senegalese president Macky Sall.
HM the King arrived on Wednesday in Dakar for a working and friendship visit to Senegal, first leg of an African tour that will take the sovereign to Guinea Bissau, Côte d’Ivoire and Gabon.
Dakar – King Mohammed VI’s visit to Dakar will significantly strengthen bilateral relations, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad Mankeur Ndiaye.
“Morocco is not only a brotherly country, a friendly country, it is an ally of Senegal,” the minister told the press following the signing ceremony, chaired by HM King Mohammed VI and President Macky Sall.
The partnership with Morocco is strategic, “it is one of the major axes of our foreign policy,” he said, highlighting “the particularity and density” of strong relations between the two countries.
According to Ndiaye, the thirteen agreements signed Thursday before King Mohammed VI and President Macky Sall “are of great interest as they cover very important fields,” citing as an example the agreement on the establishment of an Economic Impetus Group, which will be launched officially next Monday.
