National Brigade of the Judicial Police seized firearms brought by Mujahideen Movement
PERSISMA, Rabat (May 11, 2012) – The National Brigade of the Judicial Police (NBJP) seized several firearms brought into the country by members of the terrorist network known as “the Mujahideen movement in Morocco,” directed by a leading member of this organization in several bustling cities of the Kingdom, said a statement Friday the interior ministry. Seizure of firearms following the dismantling of a terrorist network which is activated in several cities.
The dismantling of this network was announced May 5 by the department.
The weapons were hidden in farms near Tiflet and the region of SebaĆ¢ Ayoun, the source said, adding that the investigations in the context of this case allowed the BNPJ identify weapons caches and follow the circuit traffic. The seizure of these weapons took place as part of a search operation conducted in accordance with law.
In the periphery of Tiflet, four pistols, three automatic pistols, 74 bullets of 9 ml and 30 ml of 7.65, a holster for a gun and three magazines were seized.
As for the survey area SebaĆ¢ Aioun, it resulted in the seizure of a firearm and a magazine containing nine bullets.
Investigations are still ongoing in this case by the security services in close coordination with the prosecution office of terrorism, to determine the connections of this terrorist network and its possible ramifications and stop in question, knowing that the weapons and ammunition seized will undergo technical expertise to the national Laboratory of forensic Science.
