PERSISMA, Dakhla, Mar 13, 2015 – UN Under-Secretary-General Philipe Douste Blazy described as “visionary” the message sent by HM King Mohammed VI to participants in the yearly session of the Crans Montana Forum which opened on Friday in Dakhla.

Douste Blazy, who was speaking at the opening of this session, held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Forum, said that several elements in the royal message caught his attention as Morocco’s African policy which is based, as underlined the sovereign, “on a comprehensive, integrated and inclusive approach designed to promote peace and stability”.

The UN official said that achieving stability and peace require a solidarity-based globalization. “Over 1.5 billion people worldwide earn less than one dollar per day,” he recalled.

He also said he was glad to take part in the forum which is “a link between the Maghreb, the Atlantic and the Sahel”.

The meeting, held under the patronage of HM the King, is themed “Africa, regional cooperation and south-south cooperation”.
