King Mohammed VI visits “Garden of Europe” near Amsterdam
PERSISMA, Rabat – During King Mohammed VI’s three-day visit to the Netherlands, he made a visit to Keukenhof Park, the largest and one of the most beautiful flower gardens in the world, Hespress reported.
The park – also known as the “Garden of Europe” – is located near the country’s capital of Amsterdam, where it is open to the public from late-March to mid-May, during the peak bloom time for the flowering plants.
According to the official website for the park, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted in the park annually.
A Moroccan immigrant working at the garden as a tour guide greeted the king at the gate. The man, who also works as a limousine driver, then went on to accompany the king on a tour of the garden for roughly an hour before the monarch left for his hotel.
Dozens of Moroccans had gathered in front of the king’s hotel when he arrived, which prompted him to greet his citizens living abroad briefly as the crowd grew larger and became more difficult to control.
During the king’s stop in front of the hotel, Moroccans were able to approach the king and take pictures with him in a specially allotted time period.
