Alumni of Morocco Hold Annual Meeting in Jakarta

PERSISMA, Jakarta – A number of alumni of Indonesian students studying in the country commonly called Al Magribhi of Morocco, organized annual meeting for the year 2013. The activity was held at Hotel Borobudur Jakarta on Friday, June 14, 2013, from 15.00 until 21.00. The event was attended and officially opened by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Indonesia, HE Mr. Mohamed Majdi.

Aside from being a meeting place to strengthen silahturahim, a series of major events that appear in this activity is the central theme of the seminar “History Unfold Linkage Indonesia to Morocco in the Past”. Some speakers are professor and doctoral degree graduates from various distinguised universities in Morocco took part as speakers or as responders and the audience at the event. They are generally presented on linkage historic moments between the people of Indonesia to Morocco, especially in the context of a student who is studying religion from a teacher from Morocco.

The meeting was really useful, not only for alumni to meet-the reunion at the event, but also very impressive and useful to other audiences who are not associated with a group of alumni Moroccan question. Many lessons and great information can be gleaned from the exposure of the speakers. Various actual and important information delivered, particularly in relation to religious and spiritual life of the people of Indonesia and Morocco in the past. Moroccan Ambassador to Indonesia very much appreciated annual activities initiated and implemented by the Moroccan alumni. “I on behalf of the Moroccan royal government highly appreciates and supports this kind of activity,” said Mohamed Majdi. He then explained that government policies will continue to encourage good relations and harmony, even to the level that is closer as fellow populous Muslim country, between the two nations.

At the end of the ceremony, a dinner reception was held with the alumni with Moroccan Ambassador. Activities are also covered by several journalists from various media, among others, The Jakarta Post, Rakyat Merdeka Online, Online Newspaper Photojournalists and Indonesia (COFFEE), is progressing well, smoothly and very familiar.
