Families demand the clarification about Ahmed Khalil circumstances

PERSISMA – The website www.futurosahara.net, published an article concerning Ahmed Khalil, the one of the main members of the separatist group ”polisario”, who was kidnapped by the Algerian services on January 6, 2009 in Algiers, according to his son Rachid Khalil.

Ahmed Khalil was born in Tan-Tan, in the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun, in southwestern Morocco.

He was a human rights adviser to the executive council of the Polisario Front.

In 2014, the Tindouf Autonomous Support Forum (Forsatin) said in a statement that Ahmed Khalil had been kidnapped for openly criticizing the gross human rights violations in the Tindouf camps.

Ten years after his enforced disappearance, the fate of the former head of the Tindouf security camps, Ahmed Khalil, remains unresolved. The cries of his family found no resonance in the Polisario, any more than the Algerian services, accused of being responsible for the kidnapping. Hence the appearance of the tribe of the victim, “Rguibat Souaad”, who has just gone to the creneau to demand the return of the victim “dead or alive”!

On January 25, 2019, the Rguibat Souaad tribe and members of his family met at the “Laayoune” camp to discuss the measures to be taken in the face of the reluctance of the Polisario “directory” and the Algerian authorities to clarify the situation.

At this meeting, which was organized by the victim’s son, Haffadallah Khalil Ahmed, members of his family, as well as members of the Rguibat Souaad tribe, also demanded that those responsible for his abduction be informed of the circumstances of his abduction. His disappearance and the place of his incarceration, if necessary information on the circumstances of his death, the date as well as the place of his burial.
