French President Emmanuel Macron Arrives in Morocco
PERSISMA, Rabat – President of the French Republic, H.E. Emmanuel Macron and his spouse Mrs. Brigitte Macron arrived, on Wednesday in Rabat, for a friendship and working visit to Morocco, at the invitation of HM King Mohammed VI.
At their arrival at the Rabat-Salé airport, the French head of state and Mrs. Brigitte Macron were greeted by HM King Mohammed VI, who was accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, HRH Princess Lalla Salma and HRH Princess Lalla Oum Keltoum.
HM the King and his distinguished guests reviewed afterwards a detachment of the Royal Guard that was paying the honours.
The French head of state was greeted by head of government Saâd Eddine El Otmani, HM the King’s advisors, the interior minister, the foreign minister and Morocco’s ambassador to France.
The French leader was also greeted by major general, inspector general of the Royal Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, director general of national police and director of national territory surveillance, director general of intelligence agency (DGED), interim wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, president of the region’s council, elected members and representatives of civil and military authorities of the wilaya.
Afterwards, HM the King was greeted by members of the French embassy in Rabat, as well as members of the official delegation accompanying the French president.
The French head of state and his spouse were then invited to the traditional offering of milk and dates.
After a short break at the VIP lounge in the Rabat-Salé airport, the procession of the two leaders headed for the Rabat royal palace.
