Official welcome for French president in Casablanca

PERSISMA, Casablanca – HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid presided, on Wednesday at the Mechouar square in the Royal Palace in Casablanca, the official welcome of the President of the French Republic, François Hollande, who started an official visit to Morocco at the invitation of the Sovereign.

03 April 2013 Before arriving in the square, a troop of cavalry of the Royal Guard escorted the procession of HM the King and President Hollande at “Lemaigre Debreuil” square at the Royal Palace.

When the procession arrived in the Mechouar square, the French President and Valérie Trierweiler were greeted by HRH Princesses Lalla Salma, Lalla Meryem and Lalla Hasna.

Then HM the King, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, and his guest got to the grandstand to greet the national colours to the sound of national anthems of the two countries, while a 21-gun cannon salute resounded in welcome to the French President.

President Hollande was greeted by a number of Moroccan civil and military figures, and HM the King was greeted by the members of the official French delegation.
