HM King: Failure to take responsibility to Algeria as the main party in the Sahara conflict, there will be no solution
PERSISMA, Rabat – King Mohammed VI said on Thursday that there will be no solution to the Sahara issue as long as we did not take responsibility to Algeria as a main part in this conflict, castigating ‘vis-à-vis the real party of convenience’ to the dispute and attempts to exempt it from its responsibilities.
In a speech to the nation on the occasion of the 39th anniversary of the Green March, the Sovereign added that there will be no stability in the region as long as there is no ‘perception responsible’ the tense security situation prevailing there.
‘Failing to take responsibility to Algeria as a main part in this conflict, there will be no solution. And lack of responsible perception of the tense security situation prevailing in the region, there will be no stability, ” said His Majesty the King.
For the Sovereign, it is by no means harm to Algeria or its management, or its people, to whom We pay the highest esteem and the greatest respect. Our words are weighed and the meaning is clear.
HM King lamented that whenever this truth is evoked by the Moroccans, government, Moroccan political parties and the press are routinely accused of tackling Algeria.
Although lacking oil and gas, while the other party, namely Algeria, has the resources it believes that they open the doors in defiance of law and legality, Morocco’s principles, faith in the rightness of his cause, and especially the condition of its citizens and their attachment to their homeland, welcomed His Majesty the King.
And Sovereign to continue that lure one who believes that the Sahara’s management will be by means of oriented technical reports or ambiguous recommendations to reconcile the claims of all parties.
Similarly, one who attempts to compare the Sahara on the one hand, and East Timor and certain territorial disputes in Eastern Europe, on the other hand, is dead wrong, as each case has its own characteristics, said HM King, explaining that ‘the link between the people of the Sahara and Morocco not new, but it has its roots in the most distant history.’
In this regard, the Sovereign says deeply believe in the correctness of the national cause and the triumph of law and the legitimacy of the attempts of separatism, expressing the hope that one day the children of the Sahara together in their homeland and join to new markets dedicated to the development and creation of conditions for a free and dignified life of all Moroccan citizens.
This will be, said HM the King, the best pledge of fidelity to the memory of the architect of the Green March, the late King Hassan II, and the memory of the brave martyrs of the Fatherland, paying tribute to the Forces Royal Armed, in all their components, and the security forces for their constant mobilization to preserve security and stability and defend the integrity of the country.
