PERSISMA, Casablanca, Jul 17, 2014 – HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and HH Prince Moulay Ismail, chaired, on Thursday at the Royal Palace of Casablanca, the fifth religious lecture of the Hassani lectures of the holy month of Ramadan.

The lecture was given by Pr. Zahra Najia Zahraoui, member of the Marrakech local council of Ulema, on the theme “women’s contribution to building Moroccan personality”, drawing on the Quranic verse: “The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Those – Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise”.

The lecturer underlined that the choice of the lecture’s theme was motivated by the attention HM King Mohammed VI gives to women and His efforts to make women integrate the development policy and contribute to building society.

She said the term personality, the theme of the lecture, has scientific, religious, spiritual, political, national, economic, cultural and civilizational dimensions, highlighting one aspect that distinguishes women, wherever they are, namely motherhood.

Pr. Najia Zahraoui has developed two aspects of the contribution of women to building the Moroccan personality, namely the contribution of women through behavior, participation and knowledge and the participation of women in work and creation.

She cited examples of famous Moroccan women throughout history in Sufism, politics, science, resistance, charity, literature, medicine and art.

At the end of the lecture, HM the King was greeted by Pr. Zahra Najia Zahraoui who gave the Sovereign a copy of the book “Moaajam Chahirat Al Maghrib”.
