HM the King inaugurates in Rabat ‘Al Amal’ social complex, worth 45 million dirhams
PERSISMA, Rabat – HM King Mohammed VI inaugurated, on Monday at Yacoub Al Mansour neighborhood in Rabat, “Al Amal” social complex, carried out as part of the National Initiative for Human Development (NIHD), for 45 million dirhams.
– The new complex is meant to support destitute old people and children in difficult situation;
– About 2000 people will benefit from the social services of the new facility;
The construction of this complex is part of an ambitious strategy aimed at upgrading existing shelters in the Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer region, creating new centers and supporting associations involved in the fight against poverty.
The new facility will provide destitute old people and children in difficult situation with accommodation as well as support programmes in training, formal and informal education, for a successful social and professional integration.
Built on an area of 3.7 hectares, “Al Amal” complex has a center for destitute old people with a capacity of 100 people and a center for children in difficult situation that can host up to 90 children.
The complex will strengthen and improve the infrastructure for hosting people in precarious situations. It promotes efforts aiming at tackling the phenomenon of begging and vagrancy.
