HM the King orders the sending of humanitarian aid urgent in the Republic of Congo
PERSISMA, Rabat, March 4,2012 (MAP) – His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, gave this day its High Instructions for sending medical aid and emergency humanitarian assistance to the Republic of Congo, at the request of the Congolese President, Denis Sassou Nguesso, following the series of explosions in the morning, in an ammunition depot in Brazzaville.
The sovereign also gave his High Instructions for sending and deployment of a military field hospital in the Republic of Congo to provide emergency medical care to the Congolese people injured in this tragic incident.
A first planeload of medicines and medical equipment to leave the Kingdom to the Republic of Congo, on Sunday evening.
Morocco was among the first countries to respond to the request of the Congolese President, in keeping with its ongoing process in such circumstances.
It should be recalled that five explosions occurred in an ammunition depot in Brazzaville, causing hundreds of deaths and resulting in injury to hundreds more.
