The Board signed a contract with the State Programme
PERSISMA – The Head of Government Abdelilah Benkiran today chaired in Rabat the signing ceremony of the Agreement between the State Program and the National Office of Electricity and Water Supply (Onee) for 2014-2017. The total amount of the recovery effort will amount to about 45 billion dirhams, insured up to about 70% by a financial contribution of the State and made available by the savings Onee management and exploitation.
The main objective of this Program Agreement, signed by the Ministers of the Interior; of Economy and Finance; Energy, Mines, Water and Environment; and the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of General Affairs and Governance and the Director General of the National Office of Electricity and Water Supply (Onee), is the restoration of the viability and the financial soundness of the onee. “The goal is to enable the Office to continue its development program and strategic investments to ensure the best conditions of quality and price, satisfying domestic demand increasingly growing electricity, drinking water equipment and liquid sanitation infrastructure, “says a statement from the office of the Head of Government.
Remedy this Situation
The same source states that today Onee knows a critical situation and it is therefore in order to remedy this situation, the Government has initiated more than a year since a concerted effort and preparation leading to the finalization this Agreement Program. Thus, for the State, the Contract Programme will result in a total financial commitment of around 22 billion dirhams. Similarly, it is committed to supporting the onee to recover 3.5 billion dirhams accumulated by authorities, municipalities and government arrears.
