The Largest Solar Power Plant in The World
PERSISMA – One of the biggest projects of this decade in Morocco was undoubtedly that of the development of renewable energies. The Kingdom’s objectives in this area are very ambitious: 42% of the renewable energy mix by 2020, and 52% by 2030. A royal commitment that was highlighted during COP 22 is held in Marrakech. In April 2017, King Mohammed VI launched the construction of the Noor Ouarzazate IV power station, the largest solar thermal complex in the world. Established over 3,000 hectares, Noor’s four solar power plants meet international standards, both technologically and environmentally, and are associated with a 150-hectare research and development platform.
