HM the King chairs oath-taking ceremony of graduates of military and para-military schools

PERSISMA, Rabat – HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Chief and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), who was accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid chaired on Thursday at the Mechouar square in the Royal palace of Rabat, the oath-taking ceremony of officers who graduated from various military and para-military schools and institutes, and of officers who were promoted.

HM the King named this new class “General Abdelaziz Bennani”.

After saluting the national flag as the national anthem was playing, the Sovereign delivered the following address:

“Praise be to God May Peace and blessings be upon the Prophet, His Kith and Kin,

Honorable Officers,

As the Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, it gives me great pleasure to preside over this Oath-Taking Ceremony for the officers who have graduated from our security and military academies.

On this occasion, I wish to pay tribute to our Security and Armed Forces for their state of the art training and great competence, as well as for the vigilance, commitment and discipline they have always displayed in defending the unity, security and stability of the nation as well as in the field of humanitarian and social action, both inside Morocco and abroad.

I have decided to name this year’s group of graduates after General Abdelaziz Bennani, to whom I wish a speedy recovery. He has been an exemplary been an exemplary commanding officer, selflessly dedicating his entire life to serving his King and his country with loyalty and integrity.

While performing your national duty, I urge you – may God protect you – to display the same sense of patriotism, mobilization and discipline that has always characterized our Royal Armed Forces, and thus remain loyal to your eternal motto: God, the Country, the King.”

After the oath-taking, HM the King, Supreme Chief and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces reviewed the detachments of the newly-graduated officers.

The new class includes 394 officers who graduated from the following major military academies: The Military Royal Academy, The Royal Air School, including two female officers, The Royal naval school, The Royal school of military health services, including 14 female officers, The training center of FAR social services (including 24 female officers).

In addition to graduates of these academies, the class comprises 898 reserve officers who graduated from the following major paramilitary schools: the Mohammedia engineers schools, including 141 females, the Royal Institute of territory Administration, of the interior ministry, including 15 female authority agents, the Royal Police Institute, including 22 female officers, the National forestry school of engineers, including 6 female officers, the customs training center, including 14 female officers,

In addition to 214 officers, including 7 females, from the Royal Armed Forces, Royal Gendarmerie, Royal Guard, and Auxiliary forces, who were promoted.

HM the King, Supreme Chief and Chief of Staff of FAR, then promoted higher officers to the ranks of generals and colonels.

This promotion is part of the regular advancement of various FAR components, held annually during the throne day.

The royal gesture reflects the solicitude and the particular and constant care that HM the King, Supreme Chief and General Chief of Staff of FAR, grants to the Royal Armed Forces family and resolve to directly see to their moral and material well-being.

The Sovereign who was accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid then received at the Royal Palace of Rabat General de corps d’armée Bouchaib Arroub, FAR general inspector and commander of the Southern Zone, who presented to the Sovereign a message of best wishes, faithfulness and loyalty addressed to the Sovereign on behalf of the officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers on the 15th throne day anniversary.

HM the King was then greeted by the valedictorians of the various military and paramilitary academies and institutes.

The Royal audience took place in the presence of the head of government, the delegate-minister for national defense and general de corps d’armée Hosni Benslimane, commander of the Royal Gendarmerie.

Were present at the oath-taking ceremony, the speakers of the two parliamentary chambers, HM the King’s advisors, government members, higher officers of the FAR general chief of staff, foreign military attachés accredited in Rabat and other civil and military personalities.
