HM the King lays in Nador foundation stone for religious, cultural, administrative complex

PERSISMA, Nador – HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, laid, on Friday in Nador, the foundation stone for the construction of a religious, cultural and administrative complex affiliated to the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, for a total investment of 80 million dirhams.

On this occasion, explanations were provided to the Sovereign on the future complex, which will be built on a total area of 12,664 m2 and house a mosque as well as administrative, cultural and commercial pavilions.

With a capacity to host 6,000 worshippers, the great mosque will be built according to authentic Moroccan architectural standards. It will include three prayer rooms, a central courtyard (Sahn), external areas, an accommodation for the imam and another for the Muezzin.

 

The new complex will also include an administrative and cultural wing housing the local council of ulema, the provincial delegation of Islamic Affairs and Endowments department, a conference room with a capacity of 220 seats, a library, reading and computer sciences rooms and a refreshment area.

The project also includes the construction of a Quranic school and administrative offices, a commercial pavilion housing a number of commercial shops and a cafeteria.

The complex, whose completion time is 24 months, will require a budget of 80 million dirhams.

The building of the complex illustrates HM the King’s constant concern to provide worshippers with Mosques in good conditions.

The project comes in accordance with the high royal directives for the building of integrated, influential religious and cultural complexes across Moroccan regions in order to enable ulema better fulfill their mission of orientation, reinforcing of immutable religious and national values and the preservation of the public interest.
