HM the King visits field hospital established by Royal Armed Forces in Bissau
PERSISMA, Bissau – HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Guinea-Bissau’s President José Mario Vaz visited, on Friday, a field hospital established by the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) in Bissau.
Upon his arrival at the field hospital, the sovereign was greeted by Lieutenant-General Bouchaib Arroub, FAR’s inspector general and commander of the southern zone, brigadier general Ahmed Mouden, inspector of military health and chief medical officer of the Moroccan field hospital in Bissau, colonel Khalid Assir.
Afterwards, HM the King was informed about the modern equipment the hospital has and the good services it offers to citizens of Guinea-Bissau.
The sovereign, accompanied by José Mario Vaz, toured the different departments and wards in the hospital which has admitted a huge number of Guinea-Bissau’s population, and posed for a souvenir photo with the hospital’s staff.
Set up near the “Attadamoun Mosque” in the capital of Guinea-Bissau, the hospital offers medical care in a number of specialties as cardiology, dermatology, pulmonology , traumatology, general and internal medicine, pediatrics, neurology, gynecology, dentistry, ophthalmology and ENT.
The field hospital has all equipment necessary to ensure the success of this humanitarian operation, including a laboratory, an operating room comprising an intensive care unit, general anesthesia services and an emergency department.
In addition to medical services, patients benefit also from medicines offered by the hospital.
Managed by 112 executives, including medical specialists, nurses and a support team, this medical-surgical field hospital set up by FAR in Bissau, has a capacity of 30 beds that could be doubled.
