PERSISMA, New York (UN) – Senegal said, Friday in NY before the UN 4th committee, that the Moroccan autonomy initiative for the Sahara is a balanced solution of compromise that will contribute decisively in settling the issue.

The Moroccan autonomy initiative could be a balanced solution of compromise as it lays the bases for autonomy in the Sahara through the setting up, locally, of executive, legislative and legal competent bodies and institutions, Senegal’s ambassador to UN Abdou Salam Diallo said.

The implementation of this proposal could be decisive in reaching the long-awaited solution to the problem, he said before the UN member states.
